Brand domains in Vero2

Vero2 2.0.0 can choose a brand from the visitor's domain, so several brands can keep their own hostnames while sharing one Shopify store. Enable the existing multi-brand system first; use this guide for domain routing and Vero2's brand behavior.

Add domain mappings to Brand entries

  1. In Shopify Admin, open Settings → Custom data → Metaobjects and edit the existing Brand definition.
  2. Add an optional Single line text field with the key domains, then save the definition.
  3. Open each Brand entry and fill the field with comma-separated hostnames, such as school.example.com, www.school.example.com.
  4. Keep the entry active and available to the storefront. Existing entries can leave this field blank.

Use hostnames only, without https://, paths, ports, or wildcards. List apex and www hosts separately. Use ASCII/punycode for international hostnames. Case and surrounding spaces are ignored. Keep each hostname assigned to only one Brand; duplicate mappings use the first match.

Connect each domain as an alias

Add the domain under Settings → Domains and wait for DNS and SSL to be ready. Open it, select Change domain type, choose Alias domain, and save. An alias keeps its hostname in the address bar; a redirect domain sends the visitor to the primary domain before the theme can apply that brand. See Shopify's alias-domain instructions.

Turn on Theme settings → Multi-Brand → Enable multi-brand system, then configure the Brand's logos, menu, and available footer color controls. Vero2 uses its palette system, so do not copy Vero color scheme IDs into Vero2 styling controls.

Choose the landing page

Select the Brand's URL Page. Visiting / on a matching domain sends the visitor to that page on the same hostname while preserving query parameters and fragments. The redirect runs in the browser and is skipped in theme-editor previews.

A blank URL, or Use storefront home as landing URL, keeps the store homepage with the domain's brand applied. The header logo links to the current hostname's root. Brand badges link to the first valid hostname listed for that Brand plus its landing-page path.

Use relative menu links such as /collections/fundraiser to keep browsing on the current domain. An absolute link to the primary domain switches the visitor away from the brand domain.

Understand brand priority

A matching domain wins over product, tag, collection, page, and homepage brand assignments. It applies on cart and search pages too. An unmapped domain follows the normal content-based brand rules.

These mappings share the store's products, inventory, and checkout. They do not create an independent catalog, homepage template, or checkout brand. Cart continuity across different domains must be checked on your store; clicking a brand badge does not transfer cart data.

Shopify Markets and dedicated market domains can redirect visitors away from an alias. Alias domains are also not supported for customer-account pages. Review Shopify's alias-domain limitations before launch.

Verify and troubleshoot

Test each hostname on the homepage, landing page, a product, collection, cart, and search. Check the logo, menu, footer, active badge, and links to other brands. Primary-domain/theme-editor previews do not simulate another hostname.

If the hostname changes unexpectedly, check the domain type and Markets settings first. If the wrong brand appears, check the exact domains field key, entry publication, duplicate mappings, and the address-bar hostname. If your store has more than 50 Brand entries, contact 424 Solutions to check every domain mapping before launch.

Shopify URL redirects are for broken URLs and cannot provide this per-domain homepage routing. Use the alias-domain feature above rather than creating a URL redirect from an existing / page. See Shopify URL redirect restrictions.
