Changelog
v1.8.0 — Now shipping
Live Patch Preview
- On-product patch configurator — Added a native product block where shoppers can choose a patch shape, material, engraving or UV method, upload artwork or select a gallery design, and preview the result on product photography.
- Material libraries — Patch materials can use texture and swatch images, fixed or selectable engraving colors, reusable material sets, and optional group-specific fees.
- Non-preview materials — Unsupported materials such as tri-layer acrylic can share the artwork workflow through existing swatch-group fields without generating an inaccurate preview or export.
- More shape control — Includes common built-in shapes, merchant-supplied SVG outlines, and a Contour option that traces uploaded artwork. Customers can drag and pinch traced contour artwork when placement controls are enabled.
- Product-photo alignment — The storefront alignment editor stores percentage-based placement, supports view-specific media rules, per-product overrides, and optional customer positioning controls.
- Production-ready order data — Selected configuration values reach the cart as line item properties, with optional PNG mockup and SVG artwork exports.
See: Patch Preview Setup Guide
Product configuration and pricing
- Manual tier pricing tables — Added a product-page pricing table with nested tier rows, optional savings, open-ended quote rows, highlighting, product-tag visibility, and style controls.
- Required compatible add-ons — Compatible Add-ons can be limited by product tag and can require at least one selection before the parent product is added.
- Custom quote wording — Catalog Mode now includes editable Add to quote button text and optional helper copy on product forms and quick add.
- Out-of-stock Hat Lab ordering — Optional settings keep sold-out styles and unavailable choices visible while moving them after available products and variants.
See: Manual Tier Pricing Table, Compatible Add-ons Selector, Catalog Mode, and Hat Lab Setup
Orders, uploads, and cart reliability
- Safer file-upload checkout — Accelerated checkout is hidden only while the live product form exposes a usable file input, preventing Buy it now and wallet buttons from bypassing customer artwork.
- Bulk Order upload recovery — Saved drafts remember which upload fields need attention after a reload, ask customers to reselect or discard local files, and block submission while required artwork is unresolved.
- Grouped Bulk Order fees — Merchandise and fee products from the same Bulk Order submission stay linked; per-item fees track the combined group quantity and clean up with the group.
- Compatible Add-ons refinements — Required selection, tag-scoped visibility, dropdown layering, and accelerated-checkout handling are more reliable across shared product templates.
See: Product File Upload, Bulk Order Setup, and Custom Option Fees
Branding and browser compatibility
- Per-brand header colors — Brand metaobjects can optionally override the header's top, bottom, and navigation color schemes while preserving the configured fallback and transparent-header behavior.
- In-app browser stability — Cross-document transitions are disabled in affected Android WebViews, including common social in-app browsers, to prevent navigation freezes.
- Patch media matching — View-specific rules now avoid broad filename and alt-text matches that could place an overlay on the wrong product photo.
v1.7.0
New storefront sections
- Page Password Gate - Added a page-level password screen with editable text, branding, form labels, and an optional exit link.
- Feature Strip - Added a flexible row of benefits, services, or trust points using built-in icons, uploaded images, headings, text, and links.
- Collection Links carousel - Collection Links can now use a responsive, side-scrolling carousel with adjustable card sizes, spacing, headings, dividers, and active-link styling.
See: Page Password Gate and Merchandising Sections
Design Gallery and Hat Lab
- More Design Gallery destinations - A selected design can now go to Hat Lab, Bulk Order, a chosen product, or a customer-facing destination menu.
- Additional flows - Stores with multiple Hat Lab or Bulk Order pages can add those pages to the destination menu.
- Direct Hat Lab routing - Selected tagged products can open directly in the correct Hat Lab page at Step 2.
- Smoother Step 2 loading - Hat Lab no longer briefly shows Step 1 while a direct Step 2 link is loading.
See: Design Gallery Setup and Hat Lab Setup
Merchandising and product improvements
- Promo Spotlight image controls - Promo cards can keep the existing cropped image style or show the full image with optional padding and an image-well background.
- Product-specific input prompts - Product Custom Property placeholders can come from a product metafield, with the block setting used as a fallback.
- Clearer unselected pricing - Products that require shoppers to choose a variant now show the full price range before a variant is selected.
- Page-gate and editor refinements - Protected pages open without showing the page behind the gate, while the Theme Editor remains usable.
Accessibility improvements
- Semantic collection headings - Collection pages now render their primary title as an
H1, giving screen readers a clearer page structure. - Accessible custom product fields - Text inputs and text areas now use their visible field heading as the accessible label, with the configured input prompt used when no heading is present.
v1.6.1
New layout blocks
- Image Collage blocks - Added grid and overlapping collage layouts with up to three linked images, captions, responsive sizing, spacing, and color controls.
- Feature Grid block - Added a clean grid for short benefits or service details, with responsive columns and optional custom colors.
- Process Steps block - Added a numbered process layout for explaining how ordering, customization, or fulfillment works.
- Style Spotlight row centering - Added an option to center an incomplete final row instead of leaving cards aligned to one side.
- Repeated Marquee images - Marquee sections can repeat image blocks while keeping the selected image width.
See: Section Builder Blocks and Merchandising Sections
Bulk Order
- Multiple Bulk Order pages - Each Bulk Order section can use its own page slug, and saved progress stays with the correct flow.
- App-backed tier previews - Bulk Order can read matching rules from the 424 Tiered Discounts app and preview percentage, fixed-amount, or fixed-price tiers.
- Metafield fallback - Existing
custom.discount_tiersproduct metafields remain the default and are used as a fallback when no matching app rule is available.
See: Bulk Order Setup
Product selection and media
- Design selector fees - Product Design Selector choices now work with optional fee products throughout product, cart, and Hat Lab flows.
- Scoped variant media - Variant-image hiding can be limited to specific product tags when one template serves multiple product types.
- Manual variant selection refinements - When automatic variant selection is disabled, product cards and product pages wait for the shopper's choice more consistently. Single-variant and Hat Lab products keep their normal flow.
See: Custom Option Fees, Variant Image Tagging, and Release Feature Settings
v1.6.0
Catalog mode and quote requests
- Quote-request catalog mode - Added theme settings that can turn tagged products, tagged collections, or the full catalog into a quote workflow.
- Quote cart checkout replacement - When a cart contains quote items, the cart and drawer send shoppers to a quote request page instead of normal checkout.
- Native quote form fallback - Quote requests can submit through Shopify's contact form when no processor endpoint is configured, with an optional endpoint available for stores that create draft orders automatically.
- Team Store-aware catalog scope - The full-catalog mode can exclude Team Store products so private team ordering flows keep their existing access rules.
See: Catalog Mode and Quote Requests
Product options, fees, and add-ons
- More reliable add-on fees - Fee and add-on cart lines now stay linked to the selected product more consistently, including quantity changes, removals, quick add, bulk order, and modal slider submissions.
- Accessory image previews - Compatible add-ons now show larger accessory/variant image previews, including mobile-friendly preview behavior and configurable preview sizing.
- Duplicate design property cleanup - Duplicate design property submissions are skipped so orders keep a cleaner set of line item properties.
- Disabled input handling - Hidden or disabled product option inputs are ignored when reading product values, reducing accidental stale selections.
See: Compatible Add-ons Selector
Modal sliders and size charts
- Reusable modal slider chart sets - Product modal sliders can now use a reusable
modal_slidermetaobject container instead of requiring every product to carry its own slide-list metafield. - Design-driven modal visibility - Modal slider conditional display now works with product design selector changes, making builder-style product flows easier to maintain.
- Size chart popup block - Product details now include a size chart popup block that can use direct content, product metafield content, or theme metaobject content.
See: Product Modal Slider Setup and Size Chart Popup
Team Stores and merchandising
- Manual hub ordering - Team Store hub cards can be pinned or sorted with an optional
hub_sort_orderfield on theteam_storemetaobject. - Shared tag matching - Product custom blocks now use the same exact, comma-separated product-tag matching behavior for required-tag visibility.
Pricing and B2B
- Bulk pricing tables up to eight tiers - Bulk Pricing Table blocks now support tiers 1-8.
- More table layouts - Bulk Pricing Tables can use two, three, or four columns, including an optional secondary price column and a mobile two-column presentation.
- YMQ B2B price support - Product and cart price displays now handle YMQ B2B tier pricing hooks more consistently, including cart compare-price cleanup and invalid tier-price fallbacks.
v1.5.8
Product and cart merchandising
- Compatible add-ons block — Added a product-page block that lets shoppers select related add-on products, choose accessory variants and quantities, and add them after the main product succeeds.
- Independent accessory lines — Compatible add-ons are added as normal Shopify cart lines, so inventory, pricing, fulfillment, and reporting remain separate from the parent product.
- Add-on-safe checkout flow — Accelerated checkout is hidden while compatible add-ons are selected so shoppers do not bypass their add-on selections.
- Two-column bulk pricing table — Added an optional table layout that hides the price column for simpler two-column quantity/savings presentations.
- Optional YMQ B2B price hooks — Added opt-in markup hooks for stores that need YMQ B2B pricing integrations.
- Fee product cart controls — Added tag-based cart locking for fee products, linked fee lines to their parent product removals, and improved linked quantity syncing.
See: Compatible Add-ons Selector
Team Stores and access
- Password access mode — Team Stores can now use a shared password gate in addition to public and restricted access modes.
- Plain password field — Password-mode stores now use a
passwordfield on the Team Store metaobject, with the legacypassword_hashfield still supported for existing stores. - Password-mode cart protection — Tagged team products are hidden or blocked until the store is unlocked, and checkout buttons are blocked when a locked password-mode team item is still in the cart.
- Team hub compatibility — Password-mode stores still appear on Team Store hub pages so shoppers can click through to the password screen.
- Shared custom CSS override layer — Added an optional
custom.csslayer for store-specific overrides.
Hat Lab
- URL filter preselection — Hat Lab Step 1 can opt in to filter selections from URL parameters such as
?hatlab_filter=Men,?hatlab_filter=new-era, repeated parameters, or comma-separated values. - Filtered menu active state — Header menu links to filtered Hat Lab pages can now be highlighted as the current navigation item when the visible URL matches the filter link.

v1.5.7
Product personalization
- Product Personalization block — Added a grouped personalization block for custom text, customer-facing font choices, image uploads, and live previews.
- Personalization fonts — Added optional loading for Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, uploaded font files, and custom font stylesheet assets so preview text can match the customer's selected font.
- Personalization add-ons — Personalization blocks can trigger add-on fee products when shoppers enter text or upload artwork.
- Personalization minimums — Personalized products can raise the product minimum quantity, and the highest applicable minimum still wins across product rules and option-based rules.
- Conditional personalization — Personalization blocks can appear based on another property selection and clear hidden values so unselected personalization does not submit to the cart.
New sections and merchandising blocks
- How It Works section — Added a process/steps section with configurable heading, eyebrow, dividers, step blocks, spacing, and accent controls.
- Style Spotlight section — Added an editorial merchandising grid for promo cards and image link cards, with desktop and mobile layout presets.
- Promo Spotlight Card block — Added a card block with image well, badge, meta line, responsive row/column spans, shadow controls, and optional hover CTA bar.
- Bulk Pricing Table block — Added a configurable pricing table block for product pages, including tier labels, savings copy, emphasized rows, color overrides, and width controls.
Design controls
- Hero mobile content position — Added a mobile setting for hero sections that moves content below the image instead of overlaying it.
- Reusable eyebrow block — Added a standalone eyebrow block with line styles, alignment, sizing, letter spacing, and optional color overrides.
- Image link cards in spotlight layouts — Expanded image link cards with Style Spotlight grid span controls and promo badge/image-well options.
Multi-brand
- Product tag brand activation — Brand metaobjects can now list optional product tags that activate that brand on product pages when the product does not have a direct Brand metafield.
- Synced brand detection — Header logo, header menu, footer utilities, and announcement bar color detection now share the same priority order: product metafield, product tag match, collection metafield, page metafield, then homepage fallback.
v1.5.6
Product options and minimum quantities
- Expanded minimum quantity rules — Swatches, custom selects, custom multiselects, custom property fields, and file uploads can now raise the product minimum quantity when specific options are selected or fields are filled.
- Option labels — Minimum quantity options can show a small
Min-12style note beside the option label, matching the add-on fee label style. - Cart enforcement — Option and line item property minimums are carried into the cart so customers cannot reduce the quantity below the selected option's requirement.
- Smarter quantity reset — When a customer switches away from an option with a minimum quantity, the quantity can return from the auto-raised amount instead of staying unnecessarily high.
New sections and blocks
- Behind the Scenes Videos — Added a carousel section for video storytelling with playback controls, captions, autoplay options, mobile controls, typography controls, and shadow styling.
- Contextual Callout block — Added a metaobject-powered callout block that can show logos and copy only on matching product or collection contexts.
- SEO Hidden Heading — Added a section for visually hidden page headings when the visible heading is part of an image or design treatment.
Design controls
- Hero adapt to image — Added an option for image-based hero sections to size themselves from the image aspect ratio.
- Marquee speed — Added speed controls to both the marquee section and reusable marquee block.
- Video controls — Added optional simple play/pause overlay controls for video blocks.
- Hat Lab card styling — Improved Hat Lab card title styling compatibility with collection card title treatments.
Fixes and improvements
- Multi-brand announcement bar — The announcement bar can now match the active brand's main footer color scheme.
- Sticky header — Fixed a flash that could happen when the home-page logo was hidden.
- Judge.me widget — Fixed review widget sizing inside theme and app block wrappers.
- Video playback — Improved play/pause state syncing and overlay control positioning.
v1.5.5
Multi-brand
- Per-brand footer colors — Brand metaobjects can now set optional color schemes for the main footer and footer utilities row.
- Friendly color scheme input — Footer color scheme values are normalized, so entries like
Scheme 2andscheme-2resolve consistently. - Footer utilities fallback — The footer utilities row can use its own brand color scheme, fall back to the brand's main footer scheme, or fall back to the section setting.
- Active badge detection — Improved brand badge matching when Shopify metaobject IDs are unavailable.
Layout controls
- Group mobile alignment — Added mobile-specific alignment controls for Group blocks so mobile layouts do not have to inherit desktop alignment.
v1.5.4
Multi-brand
- Brand for homepage — New optional theme setting under Theme settings → Multi-Brand: pick which Brand applies on the default storefront home (
/). That brand is used for the header logo, menu, and which badge is highlighted when brand badges are enabled. The default homepage is not a Page in Shopify, so this replaces trying to assign a page metafield to “home.” - Use storefront home as landing URL — Optional boolean field on the Brand metaobject (
use_storefront_root). When enabled, that brand’s badge links to/and can be treated as the home brand if Brand for homepage is not set. Add the field in Settings → Metafields and metaobjects → Metaobjects → Brand; existing stores are unchanged until you add it. - Brand badges — Fixed active-badge styling so only the current brand is highlighted (correct metaobject identity comparison).
v1.5.3
- Added more card style options to both collection cards and image link cards.
v1.5.2
New blocks
- Badge block — A numbered or labeled badge element for use in section builder layouts (for example, step numbers in a process flow).
- Image Link Card block — A clickable image card with link, overlay, and caption options for building visual navigation grids.
New section presets
- Process preset — Added to the Section Builder: a ready-made step-by-step layout using badges, image link cards, and text blocks for showcasing workflows or how-it-works content.
Enhancements
- Text block animations — Color cycling, typewriter, and a new text highlighting effect are now available on all text presets, not just headings.
- Collection title block — Added a font weight setting (normal / bold).
- Team Stores Hub — Added a "Hub group filter" setting so merchants can create multiple hub pages that each show only a specific group of team stores.
- Mobile Toolbar — Added a Spacer block so merchants can reserve empty space in the toolbar to prevent overlap with third-party chat widgets or other floating elements.
v1.5.0
- Auto hide team store collections from general public. No longer need to use catalog visibility. -Fix aspect ratio issues for team store banners.
v1.5.0
- Theme rename: The theme is now Vero (formerly documented and marketed as The Maker Theme). This avoids confusion with another Shopify theme named Maker that has been on the platform since 2016 and returned to the theme store after our original naming.
- Added Mobile Toolbar — a fixed bottom navigation bar for mobile with configurable buttons for Shop, Contact, Cart, Account, Search, and custom links. Supports custom icons via LineAwesome or image uploads. See: Mobile Toolbar Setup Guide

- Added spacing controls for the Info Card block.
- Design selector: optional hide after a customer selects a design, with bulk-order flow support so hide-when-design and related visibility stay in sync.
