Troubleshooting 424 Inventory Sync
These checks resolve the most common grouping, location, and cart-validation issues.
Items do not appear under Matching SKUs
- Confirm at least two products or variants use the exact same non-empty SKU.
- Remove leading or trailing spaces and check capitalization.
- Confirm Shopify inventory tracking is enabled for the variants.
- Reload Matching SKUs after saving catalog changes.
Inventory does not match
- Confirm the affected items stock inventory at the same Shopify location.
- Open Inventory Sync, choose the trusted highest or lowest quantity, and run Sync now.
- If the app asks for a plan, activate a billing plan before retrying.
- Allow a short processing window after orders or rapid inventory edits.
Cart validation does not block an excessive quantity
- Confirm SKU Inventory Validation is saved and active under Settings → Checkout.
- Run Set Metafields once for products that existed before cart validation was enabled.
- Run a manual inventory sync to refresh the available value.
- Confirm the cart lines actually share the same SKU.
A location has the wrong quantity
Inventory is synced per location. A quantity at Location A does not become the source for Location B. Ensure every item in the SKU group is stocked at the intended location and reconcile again.
