Manual and automatic inventory sync

Use a manual sync to establish or reconcile matching quantities. After that, Shopify inventory activity keeps the groups aligned automatically.

Run a manual sync

  1. Open 424 Inventory Sync → Inventory Sync.
  2. Under Base quantities on, choose one option:
    • Highest quantity item copies the largest current quantity in each group.
    • Lowest quantity item copies the smallest current quantity in each group.
  3. Select Sync now.
  4. Wait for the confirmation showing updated inventory levels and SKU groups.

The selected mode is applied independently to every duplicate-SKU group found by the app.

How automatic sync works

When Shopify reports an inventory change, the app identifies the source SKU and updates the other matching inventory items. Quantities are mirrored per location.

Paid orders and refunds also trigger reconciliation. The app acknowledges Shopify webhooks quickly and completes applicable work in the background, helping avoid webhook timeouts during larger updates.

When to use manual sync again

Run Sync now after:

  • Adding a new product or variant to an existing SKU group.
  • Correcting a missed or failed inventory update.
  • Importing or bulk-editing catalog inventory.
  • Changing the SKU assigned to an item.

Review Matching SKUs before choosing highest or lowest when the current quantities disagree.
