Prepare matching SKUs
SKU equality is the connection between inventory items. Products do not need the same title, handle, or variant options.
Assign the SKU
- In Shopify admin, open the first product or variant.
- In its inventory details, enter the SKU you want the group to share.
- Assign the exact same SKU to every other product or variant representing that stock.
- Make sure each item tracks inventory at the same Shopify location.
- Repeat for each group that should sync.
SKU matching is exact. Extra spaces, different capitalization, or a blank SKU prevent items from joining the intended group.
Review detected groups
Open 424 Inventory Sync → Matching SKUs. The page lists every SKU detected on two or more items, including:
- Product and variant names.
- Product imagery when available.
- The number of items in the group.
- Each item's current total inventory quantity.
If a product is missing, correct its SKU or location setup in Shopify and reload the list.
Select an initial quantity
Before the first reconciliation, decide whether the highest or lowest quantity in each group is the trusted starting point. You will select that behavior when you run the manual sync.
